We are pleased to welcome you to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s website. We hope you will enjoy your virtual visit, and that it will provide you the information you seek about the Museum and all we have to offer.
We are proud that the Museum has reopened, having just completed a massive two-year restoration. We completely rebuilt Pier 86 where the Museum is located, refurbished the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid, completed a redesign of our main interior exhibits, the introduction of new highly interactive exhibits, repaired and repainted our aircraft and acquired several new and historically important aircraft, and made many other improvements. This has been the most expansive project undertaken in the Museum’s 26-year history.
Intrepid has again taken its place as a leading national and international cultural, educational and historic institution. Our exhibits, highlighted by the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid, the nuclear missile submarine Growler, the British Airways Concorde, the A-12 Blackbird spyplane, are once again open for all to see. Our refurbished Pier 86 is now an inviting open public space, part of the Hudson River Park. We will again headline the annual Fleet Week celebration. And our unique educational programming will reach tens of thousands of young people aboard Intrepid and in the classrooms of New York City schools.
