We are pleased to welcome you to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s website. We hope you will enjoy your virtual visit, and that it will provide you the information you seek about the Museum and all we have to offer.

Following a massive two-year restoration of the Museum completed in 2008, Intrepid has once again taken its place as a leading national and international cultural, educational and historic institution. The Museum's popularity, educational programming and community involvement have soared and we welcomed close to one million visitors through our doors last year. Our exhibits, highlighted by the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid, the nuclear missile submarine Growler, the British Airways Concorde, and the A-12 Blackbird spyplane, continue to draw visitors from across the globe to this completely unique venue. Our refurbished Pier 86, part of the Hudson River Park, is an inviting open public space which serves as the centerpiece of New York City’s annual Fleet Week celebration and many other activities.

Reaching thousands of students, families, and adults annually, our education programs are delivered through tours and workshops, powerful speaker events, video-conferencing, day camps, and public demonstrations. Spanning subjects in history, leadership, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) studies, Museum Educators lead hands-on experimentation and object-based learning at the Museum and off-site at community libraries, senior centers, and hospital schools.

In addition to Fleet Week, we are committed to honoring the men and women of the armed services throughout the year through military appreciation weekends, exciting simulations and demonstrations, and free admission year-round for active duty. It is our goal to remind our visitors of the sacrifices and challenges these men and women face on our behalf and that freedom is never free.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum offers a completely new and unforgettable experience for all who visit. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
