Applicants must choose ONE of the following essay topics and submit the chosen essay in a 500-1,000 word document, Times New Roman Font, Size 12 and double spaced.

Topic 1: Name one controversial issue in the scientific or technological world. Explain why it is disputed and how you, as a future scientist or engineer, would solve this dilemma. Provide at least 2 examples/ways you would solve it.

Topic 2: If you could design your own science/math class, what grade(s) would it target and why? What main topics would you cover? What projects would you do? Why do you feel this class would be important for students to take?
