Camp SOSI – School’s Out, Ship’s In! A Winter/Spring Camp for children ages 5-13

School vacation? Winter Recess? Why not have your children join in the educational fun offered by the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. Camp SOSI is a full day, drop-off program focusing on science and history while integrating the exhibits and history of the Intrepid. What an exciting way for campers to learn about sea, air, space and life at sea and to broaden their horizons with the weekly theme-based projects.

Winter Break
December 26-30, 2011
Intrepid Passport: Campers learn about the different countries Intrepid visited during tours of duty.
Midwinter Recess
February 20-24, 2012 		Kids Week: Campers explore the themes of sea, air, space and life at sea through interactive hands on activities while incorporating the fantastic Kids Week programming.

Spring Recess Session 1
March 26-30, 2012 		Discovering Aviation: Discover the ups and downs of aviation through tours and hands-on activities and explore our featured temporary exhibit, Women in Aviation: WWII.
Spring Recess Session 2
April 2-6, 2012 		Innovation and Exploration: A past, present and future look at Intrepid through ancient navies, aircraft carrier technology and the future of space exploration.
Spring Recess Session 3
April 9-13, 2012 		Everything Space: With Intrepid being the future home to Space Shuttle Enterprise, campers will be exploring everything space! Become the astronauts and astronomers of the future through projects and experiments.

Daily rate: $90 Weekly Rate $500

Early Bird Special: Weekly Rate $400
If registration and payment received by 15th of previous month

Former camp families, siblings and museum family members receive a 10% discount.

  • SOSI Hours: 9AM - 5PM
  • Early drop-off/late pick-up can be arranged.
  • Transportation is the responsibility of the families
  • Nut-free snacks are provided by the Intrepid.
  • Nut free lunches may be purchased in advance through the Intrepid
