SOSI – School’s Out, Ship’s In 6-13 year olds

The Intrepid has a fun-filled solution for kids during school holidays and vacations throughout the year from 9a.m. – 5p.m. Now when School’s Out, the Ship’s In at SOSI, the Intrepid Museum’s unique full-day drop-off program giving students the opportunity to explore, discover and learn about sea, air and space in a whole new way.

Intrepid Investigators

Make new friends, tour special parts of the ship and take home projects specially crafted by you! Join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month for programs tailored to enhance family discovery. Tour behind-the-scenes areas of the ship, learn about history and science, and create take-home projects. Topics include pirate-themed treasure hunts, Hudson River marine and plant life, and space exploration. Project fee per child applies. Advance registration for children ages 6-11 is required.

Weekend Demonstrations

Free with admission, themes of sea, air, space and life at sea incorporate hands-on activities and lessons to enhance the visitor experience. Demonstrations occur each weekend at 12pm, 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Topics include airplane nose art, code breaking and buoyancy.
