Join fellow educators for a FREE Teacher Professional Development event at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Saturday, July 19. This event coincides with the Museum’s Space & Science Festival, the annual five-day celebration of the sciences.

Presenting organizations include the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Hive Learning Network NYC, the Town of Ramapo Challenger Learning Center, New York Hall of Science, Solar One and Stony Brook University.

We are pleased to welcome Terry Hart as our keynote speaker. Mr. Hart is a former NASA astronaut who flew aboard Challenger for the eleventh space shuttle mission in 1984. He is currently teaching aerospace engineering and conducting research in spacecraft dynamics at his alma mater, Lehigh University.

8:15am-9:15am – Event check-in, Welcome Plaza
8:30am-9:30am – Breakfast Reception and Welcoming Remarks, Space Shuttle Pavilion
10:00am-3:30pm – Concurrent Workshop and Lecture Sessions, Michael Tyler Fisher Center for Education and Lutnick Theater
 
Arrival at Museum
Participants may check-in in the Welcome Plaza between 8:15am-9:15am on the day of the event. Early check-in will not be permitted.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is located on the west side of Manhattan on Pier 86, W. 46th Street & 12th Avenue. It is easily accessible from all points in the New York City Metro area.   • A complete agenda with session locations and Museum map will be given to participants at check-in.
  • Presenters are subject to change. Please check back for the most up-to-date information.
  • Morning reception will include a light breakfast in the Space Shuttle Pavilion. Lunch is on your own. You may purchase lunch at the Museum or bring your own “brown bag” lunch.

Event Registration
Online pre-registration is required for attendance. Deadline for registration is Friday, July 18 at 12:00pm. A registration confirmation will be emailed to all participants after this date. Space is limited.
