What better way is there to spend your day than by coming to the Intrepid Museum to learn about history and science? Scout programs and activities are designed to help children earn requirements towards their Badges, Interest Projects, Loops or Try-Its.
Scout Days
On Scout Days children can participate in fun activities with museum educators and volunteers. Generally, children can participate in make-it and take-it activities and will be able to hear from speakers to learn about such topics as aviation, water conservation, civic duty or engineering.

March 24, 2012 Girl Scout Day
Girl Scouts will participate in a number of activities that will help them learn about careers in aviation as well as how aircraft fly.
- Join us for Meet the Pilot Day, where girl scouts can learn about the struggles and successes of women in the field of Aviation. Hear from a WWII WASP and a Colonel in the United States Air Force. Space is limited for this program and is appropriate for Girl Scouts 12 years old or older (running time approximately 60-90 minutes).
- For those scouts who can’t join the Meet the Pilot program, girls can conduct one on one interviews with women who have careers in aviation.
- Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts will use their discriminating eye to determine what gear and clothing are appropriate for a pilot and design their own uniform.
- Brownies can discover the forces of gravity and drag by making their own rotocopters.
- Junior Girl Scouts can create their own kite and then test fly it on the flight deck!
