Join us for Kids Week, where children of all ages can explore the world of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) through a range of thrilling activities! Explore engaging displays and exhibits, witness captivating live animal shows, participate in hands-on workshops, enjoy performances by special guests and experience interactive demonstrations designed to educate and ignite curiosity.

Step into a space and aviation-themed adventure, where NASA astronauts, pilots, scientists, and engineers will be on-site with exhibits and demonstrations, including hands-on activities for kids of all ages!

The 501st Legion's Empire City Garrison: Take a selfie with Darth Vader! This is an all-volunteer run, worldwide charity and costuming organization that provides characters from a galaxy far far away!
Saber Guild: Empire Temple: Saber Guild is a non-profit, all-volunteer, international organization that specializes in lightsaber stage choreography and education. Its mission is to share their love of Star Wars with people of all ages!
BuildSubmarines.com supports the U.S. Navy’s mission to manufacture next-gen submarines and showcases a wide variety of career opportunities and resources. Their team will be onsite with activities such as virtual welding and machining that demonstrate skills used to build ships.
Magic, Balloons and More Inc. World-Record-Holding Balloon Artist John Reid will create an EPIC space shuttle balloon sculpture, large enough for photo ops! Every guest can have a photo with it, and when they're looking for more, they can leap into our Balloon Twisting Workshop and learn how to make their very own space-themed balloon sculpture!
Columbia Space Initiative will host 4 different activities related to space and space exploration, including designing astronaut helmets, creating lunar helmets, building mini rockets, and making mini planets.

Noon | Intrepid Museum Education Demonstration: Blast Off!: Launching a space shuttle takes some science, engineering, and a whole lot of rocket fuel. Explore how space shuttles got into space and, more importantly, how they got astronauts home safely, during this interactive demonstration.

From stories about the Intrepid’s crew, to tales about other planets, and everywhere in between, these talks will expand your experience at the Intrepid Museum! Connection to Creativity: Blast off into imagination with Connection to Creativity! Join us for an exciting experience filled with Meet-the-Author sessions, live read-aloud tales, and creative fun for the little one. After each storytime, children will jump into a hands-on craft activity inspired by the book, creating something unique to take home. A book-signing moment, giving kids a chance to meet the authors and celebrate their creations.

Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art: Celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year! Uncover the characteristics of this year’s zodiac animal, the Fire Horse, and observe a traditional torma butter sculpture demonstration.

The Intrepid Museum welcomes all visitors, including those with disabilities, their peers and families.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided for all stage presentations on Sunday, February 14, Wednesday, February 18, and Saturday, February 21. Families who need ASL interpretation may register for priority access and free admission (registration will open in January).
In addition to the induction loops in the Box Office and throughout the Museum for permanent and temporary exhibits, there will be an induction loop around the seating area for stage presentations.
Sensory bags with noise reduction headphones and fidgets will be available at both the Information Desk and the Education Maker Zone.
Veteran and military families will be able to register in advance for priority access and free admission.
