Intrepid to Host National NBC Broadcast of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

The Intrepid will serve as host for the NBC National broadcast of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show on the Hudson River. Tune in to NBC at 9pm on Saturday night to see a show like no other as Macy’s, NBC and the Intrepid honor our country’s independence.

The event also will kick off the 400th anniversary of the exploration of the Hudson River by Henry Hudson. American River, the theme of the 33rd annual Macy’s Fireworks will give more than two million spectators and millions of viewers nationwide America’s most spectacular showcase of brilliant colors, jawdropping effects and thunderous sound and the Intrepid will be at the center of it all.


Because of this unique opportunity, the Intrepid will close at 3pm on July 4th with the last ticket being sold at 1pm. The Intrepid is NOT a public viewing area for the fireworks, therefore visitors and the public will not be allowed in the museum, or on the museum complex property, after 3pm.

For the best public viewing areas, head to 12th Avenue below 59th Street at the following access points on 11th Avenue: 24th Street, 26th Street through 30th Street, 34th Street, 40th Street through 44th Street, 47th Street through 52nd Street and 54th Street though 57th Street.
