Salute to Summer

All summer long, the Intrepid Museum will be hosting events and programs for the whole family, part of our Salute to Summer celebration! Come by for Astronomy Nights, our free Summer Movie Series on the flight deck and Father’s Day, where dads can visit the Museum for the same price as kids, with a coupon.

On Thursday nights, starting July 10, the Intrepid Museum’s free Summer Movie Series takes over the flight deck, as visitors can picnic and enjoy the summer evening view of Manhattan. This year’s line-up includes Independence Day, Gravity, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Hunt for Red October, Spaceballs and Captain Phillips.

Two exciting exhibits are also scheduled to debut this summer: Submerged, an interactive 40-foot submarine housed in the Exploreum Interactive Hall; and Objects in Conversation, an exhibition that creates conversations between objects in the Museum’s collection, challenging visitors to understand artifacts in new and surprising ways.

Our annual Space & Science Festival is also scheduled to take place July 16-20, with displays from NASA, astronaut appearances, an Astronomy Night and more! Check our website for the most up-to-date information about the programs, panels, activities and other events happening this summer at the Intrepid Museum!
