Members of the US Marine Corps, US Navy and former crew members of the USS Intrepid presented at a Veterans Day ceremony that honored past and present service men and women on Wednesday, November 11 on the Flight Deck of the Intrepid.

The tribute included the playing of taps, a commemorative wreath laying into the Hudson River and remarks from Bill White, President of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and Major General William Monk III, US Army.

Earlier in the day, The 106th Rescue Wing, a top combat search and rescue unit, conducted a search and rescue demonstration on the Hudson River adjacent to the Intrepid. Following the demonstration, an HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter landed on the flight deck of the Intrepid and museum visitors had  the opportunity to climb inside and interact with pilots.
