Ready for some spooky, family-friendly fun this Halloween? On Wednesday, October 30, The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will have extended hours, until 8:00pm, so visitors can celebrate Halloween on the Hudson. Guests can decorate their own Trick-or-Treat bag and then explore the Museum while Trick-or-Treating.
There will also be face painting and a Monster Mash Dance Party taking place in the Exploreum Interactive Hall, and two screenings of Hocus Pocus in the Lutnick Theater, at 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Festivities begin at 3:00pm and are free with Museum Admission.
Elsewhere throughout the Museum, Education Demonstrations and Tour Guide Talks will take place throughout the evening, including Mad Science Silly Putty and the Naval Superstitions Tour Guide Talk. There will also be a FREE Flashlight Tour of the Flight Deck, so bring your own flashlight!
And additional Guided Tours are available for Museum visitors to purchase, including the Museum’s regular tours such as Humanity Behind the Hardware and Space Shuttle Enterprise: Up Close and In Depth. Additionally, a special one-day-only Guided Tour will be offered at 5:45pm on October 30: Salty Talk! Words from the Sea. Few people know that much of the English language comes from sailor slang, and this funny, interactive talk delves into the language of pirates, petty officers, and swabbies!
