||Tour Guide Talk: Who was Sally Ride?
Dr. Sally Ride, who passed away in July 2012, was a physicist, engineer, astronaut, educator and author. She broke barriers by becoming the first American woman to fly into space in 1983. After retiring in 1987 to pursue a career in education, one of her passions became encouraging students, especially girls and young women, to study science and math. During this 15-minute talk our tour guides will highlight the accomplishments of a national hero and powerful role model.
Who Was Sally Ride? will take place on Saturdays and Sundays in March at 11:00am and 1:00pm. Inquire at the Information Desk. This Tour Guide Talk is open to the public and free with the price of admission to the Museum. Tours are appropriate for ages 6 and up.
