Intrepid President Susan Marenoff-Zausner signs Space Shuttle Enterprise Transfer TitleUnited States Senator Charles Schumer, Representative Jerrold Nadler, NYS Assembly Member Michael DenDekker and other New York City elected officials and civic leaders joined NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver at a ceremony presenting the title for the Space Shuttle ‘Enterprise’ to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Sunday, December 11th.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Co-Chairman Charles de Gunzburg, President Susan Marenoff-Zausner and former crew members of the USS Intrepid accepted the title on behalf of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

In April 2011, NASA announced the names of the institutions that would be home to the retiring Shuttle Orbiters. Enterprise, which currently resides at the Smithsonian in Washington DC, will be transferred to New York in the spring of 2012.
