The U.S. Navy’s Magnificent Seven: Aircraft Carriers in World War II | 11:00am and 1:00pm (Exploreum)
On December 7, 1941, the United States had just seven aircraft carriers in service. During the first two years of war these legendary vessels fought against the odds to hold the Japanese back long enough for a new fleet to be built. During this interactive presentation, Museum guests will become these legendary aircraft carriers as our tour guide leads you through the major events of the Pacific War. From seven ships down to a handful of battle scarred survivors, you will experience the sacrifices that made possible the construction of the greatest naval force the world has ever seen.

Stories from Normandy: D-Day at 70 | 11:45am and 1:45pm (hangar 2)
On June 6, 1944, the allies invaded Normandy, opening up a second front against Nazi Germany and launching the liberation of occupied Europe. D-Day was the largest and most complicated amphibious military operation ever attempted, and June 6 remains a defining moment in American history. During this Tour Guide Talk, museum tour guides will tell the story of the Normandy invasion through images and anecdotes of the men who were there. Focusing on the intricate planning, military operations and continuing legacy of the invasion, “Stories from Normandy” will seek to show museum guests why we still honor and remember D-Day 70 years later.

Tour Guide Talks are free with Museum Admission
