The Intrepid Museum is pleased to welcome home former crew members of the USS Intrepid as we celebrate the ship's 70th anniversary. The Homecoming Weekend is open to the public, and will feature programs and events specifically tailored for our former crew members and their families.

The highlight of the weekend will be the 70th Commissioning Anniversary Ceremony, taking place on August 16 at 11:00am. We invite all former crew members and their families to attend, and join us for a special reception following the ceremony.

If you are a former crew member or family member planning on visiting the Museum during Homecoming Weekend, please register in advance by contacting Colin Walfield, Homecoming Weekend Coordinator, at cwalfield@intrepidmuseum.org or 646-381-5274.

The USS Intrepid Former Crew Members Association is hosting a Gala on the evening of August 16, in addition to other off-site activities taking place throughout the weekend. If you are interested in attending, please contact Ralph Slane at ralphwslane@aol.com or 917-301-3666.

During the Homecoming Weekend (August 16-18), all Intrepid former crew members and their families will be admitted to the Museum free of charge. Registration in advance is required. At all other times, former crew members of the USS Intrepid are admitted to the Museum free of charge with one guest, and any additional guests in your party receive a 20% discount on admission. Veterans receive reduced admission, and US Active Military, Retired US Military, and Children Under 3 are admitted for free. Please visit our ticket information page for more information.

Please note that a majority of the exhibition areas at the Museum are wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the submarine Growler, Concorde jet, Gallery Deck, Marine Berthing, Bridges, and Anchor Chain Room. All restrooms and food service areas are wheelchair accessible. The Lutnick Theater is equipped with a T-Coil accessible hearing loop, and all exhibition videos, with the exception of the Kamikaze Experience, are open captioned.

Please be aware that not all areas of the ship are open to the public.

While visiting for the Homecoming Weekend, we have opportunities for former crew members to volunteer their time to speak to museum visitors about their experience aboard Intrepid.
