About this event

Throughout Intrepid’s service from 1943 to 1974, over 3,000 men representing various cultures and walks of life served onboard during World War II, the Cold War and the Vietnam War. However, Navy policy regarding race, nationality, sexual orientation and gender identity shaped who served on Intrepid and other seagoing ships.

Join the Intrepid Museum for a 90-minute virtual professional development session focused on highlighting LGBTQ+ service members who served on naval ships like Intrepid and throughout the military. Learn how social emotional learning (SEL) and culturally responsive teaching impact classroom culture and student learning. Explore strategies to incorporate culturally responsive teaching into classroom teaching and learning.

This course provides 1.5 CTLE credits. Registered participants will receive a program link and program information 1-2 days prior to the programming date. Virtual check-in will begin at 5:45PM EDT.

Registration will open approximately one month before the event. This virtual program is open to 25 registered participants who will each be eligible for a $75 stipend upon completion of the program.

Registration ends Friday, November 14 at 3:00PM EDT.
