Three elevators located at the center and at each side of the ship shuttled aircraft between the hangar deck and the flight deck. Today the hangar deck is divided in four major galleries.
As you move aft into Intrepid Hall, you will step back into Intrepid’s history. Experience the immersive Kamikaze exhibit which takes you back in time to World War II as you become one of the sailors on the Intrepid. Next is Michael Stern Hall, where rotating exhibits such as All Hands on Deck, and Prepare to Dive explore the history of aviation and maritime innovations. Lastly, M. Anthony Fisher Hall features a look at the latest developments in military & space technology. At the aft end of the hall, test your mettle in the flight simulators of the Virtual Flight Zone.
