College Access for All at the Intrepid Museum

The Intrepid Museum offers two programs that support College Access for All (CA4ALL), an initiative of the New York City Department of Education. These programs are designed to prepare high school students for college.

Pieces of History
CA4ALL Specialized Program

During this two-hour program, students analyze and interpret objects in the Museum’s collection and discuss the curation process of collecting, categorizing and displaying objects. Working in groups, students then design an “exhibit” using reproductions of artifacts, documents and ephemera from the Museum’s collection. Students explore the importance of historical accuracy, point of view and purpose in relation to the exhibit design. Group collaboration, communication and consensus are essential for the project’s success.
