Please be advised that NASA called off afternoon launch of space shuttle Endeavour for at least 48 hours because of a technical problem.
Today, at 3:30pm, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum--- via its 40’ Media Wall--- will stream live coverage of the Space Shuttle Endeavour Launch!
The Endeavour, set to take off from Kennedy Space Center at 3:47 PM, will be carrying a special payload: Lego bricks. The Lego Education Unit has tasked astronauts with building various models from Lego to see how the process is affected by the absence of gravity.
Additionally, Endeavour will transport a set of tiny satellites, developed at Cornell University, to the International Space Station. These fingernail-sized satellites are prototypes for eventual fuel-less exploratory missions. The crew will also deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer, as well as spare parts during its 14-day mission. |
