Museum Captures Space Shuttle Enterprise’s Historic Journey on Film
Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has rolled out the fourth installment in the video series chronicling space shuttle Enterprise’s historic journey to New York City.
In “Part 4,” Bill Rieke, Jeff Moultrie, Ace Beall, and Henry Taylor, the Flight Crew of the specially outfitted Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) 747 are featured and reveal what it was like to fly from Dulles to NYC with Enterprise engineered to the top of their plane. Footage from the SCA’s chase plane provides an aerial perspective of Enterprise’s incredible flight over New York City including the Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower, and Intrepid Museum.
Intrepid Museum will release additional footage leading up to the opening of the Space Shuttle Pavilion on July 19th, 2012. To view these behind the scenes videos, be sure to subscribe to Intrepid Museum’s YouTube channel, or visit: http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/Shuttle/Gallery.aspx
