Friday May 27 7:00pm: Free Movie Night: Flight Deck Celebrate the ship’s 80th commissioning anniversary and enjoy our free summer movie series featuring classic “ship” themed films. The Intrepid Museum’s summer movie series kicks off Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 26 with a free screening of Top Gun!
Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to view the film outdoors, free of charge, on a huge inflatable screen on the flight deck. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Light concessions will be sold onsite, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is NOT permitted.
All exits are final; there is no re-entry allowed. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Movie will begin at sunset. (Doors will close at 9:00pm)
The film will have open captions. 
Current and former service members and their guests are invited to use the priority member line. No advance registration required.

Visitors will have the opportunity to co-create the mural with these veterans and artists.

Provides service and emotional support dogs to veterans dealing with mental and/or physical challenges at no cost to the veteran or their family. Support dogs will be available to do some demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps A nationwide, congressionally chartered, nonprofit youth organization sponsored by the US Navy and the US Coast Guard, serving children 10-17y/o. Visitors will compete in challenges and games with the sea cadets, learn about the program through demonstrations and tactical gear, and win some cool prizes.

ROCK & ROLL MAN, the original musical about a musical original. Alan Freed was a trailblazing Cleveland DJ who heard the future—and knew he had to let it sing. He named the genre “Rock & Roll,” bringing music to the masses and integrating artists and audiences on the airwaves and in concerts for the first time in history, uniting people through their love of music. Tommy Stanley Duo creates a unique sound when blending different genres and using their soulful rock voice. The duo includes Tommy Stanley, a US Navy Veteran, and Mike Hamilton, a US Air Force Veteran. Tommy Stanley auditioned and became a finalist for the NBC singing competition Nashville Star. Tommy started working with the non-profit organization CAMMO (Center for American Military Music Opportunities) as an artist and video producer. Mike has had many roles within CAMMO since 2009, from playing drums to guitar and vocals at Invictus Games and America's Got Talent with Voices of Service.

Memorial Day Ceremony: Pier 86
Join us for a solemn ceremony honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have given their lives in defense of our nation. Civic and military leaders will offer remarks and join in a special wreath laying ceremony in honor of the fallen. The ceremony concludes with a flyover by Navy fighter jets.
The ceremony will be live-streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube. Please join us as we commemorate those we've lost.
Real-time live captioning will be available. A link will be provided so attendees can follow the captioning on their phone or tablet during the ceremony.
