Hometown Heroes Contest 2011

The Intrepid Museum’s Hometown Heroes Contest honors local residents who have made outstanding commitments to their communities in the following categories:

Community Service Award:
For someone who, on a volunteer basis, has preformed outstanding serice on behalf on the community in which he or she lives.
Mentor Award:
For someone who has done an outstanding job mentoring, teaching or coaching youth in the community.
Youth Community Service Award:
For a student age 17 or younger who made an outstanding contribution to the community through volunteerism or acts of kindness or bravery.
Service Person Award:
For any community service person (i.e.. Police, Firefighter, EMS, etc.) who has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty to help his or her local community.

The chosen Hometown Hero will receive a variety of great prizes. The final winners in all four categories will be recognized at the September 18th awards ceremony hosted by NY1’s Kristen Shaughnessy (Bio). Nominate your hero now through September 1st! One entry per person.
 

Prizes for each winner include:
