We never have a dull moment here at the Intrepid Museum. We are privy to moving stories about our clients’ experiences and memories of the stellar aircraft in the Museum’s collection. Luckily enough, we had the chance to speak with Cynthia Sulzberger, daughter of a former publisher of The New York Times. Ms. Sulzberger shared recollections of her travels on the legendary Concorde (operated by British Airways and Air France). The Concorde was the fastest commercial jet to cross the Atlantic Ocean, making the trip from New York to London in less than three hours. We enjoyed her late mother’s explanation for why she decided to fly on the supersonic jet even though she was afraid of flying: “Oh wow! The air is much smoother on this flight—not like the traditional commercial flights.” |

We chatted about the ticket price, undeniable customer service, impeccable catering and additional amenities that were offered at the terminal lounges and on board. Can you believe they offered showers and massages for all guests during their wait at the terminal? Traveling on the Concorde was truly an unforgettable luxury experience, start to finish.

We can re-create that luxury experience! Enjoy chilled cocktails and a summer breeze while nestled underneath the British Airways Concorde on our pier, overlooking the Hudson River. The sleek, polished commercial jet will create a dramatic backdrop for an evening dinner, and customized private tours inside the supersonic plane will leave your guests speechless.
