How you choose to incorporate color into your event can be the one element that really gives it that “wow!” factor, and this year’s color trends are guaranteed to impress your guests. As event planners, it’s important to establish the color scheme early on. No matter where you are in the process of developing your color scheme, here are some color trends that have been dominating 2018 and are guaranteed to make your event unforgettable. |
Millenial Pink
It seems as if “Millennial Pink” is here to stay. To us, it’s not “Millennial,” it’s simply practical. These subtle pink tones have been all the rage this year because they stand out and give any space a clean, modern feel.
One of our favorite events this year was a Star Wars-themed bat mitzvah that was pink from head to toe. From the outfits, lights, décor, and cake, the color made an impact but didn’t steal the show, creating the perfect backdrop for a very special event for the whole family. |
Ultra Violet Purple
Earlier this year, Pantone announced their selection for 2018’s color of the year: a dark, mysterious shade of purple called Ultra Violet. According to Pantone, “Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.” Ultra Violet pairs well with our venue and its many exhibitions around space and exploration, and we see it used in many events through lighting. . This bold yet versatile color is great for all types of events, especially holiday parties. The dark, rich purple brings out a different personality for the holidays and gives a cool, wintry vibe that acts as a great accent to any party. |
Metallic as Neutrals
Another color trend to note is the rise of warm metallic shades, including colors like copper, bronze and gold. The great thing about metallics is that they can stand alone or be used as an accent. We see a lot of these shades used as a base foundation color, with bright, eye-popping florals that stand out against the muted metallic tones. |
