
From Sunday, August 19th – Tuesday, August 21st, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will celebrate New York City’s Air Force Week
The United States Air Force is set to take over the Museum’s Pier 86 with military working dog demonstrations, live music from high-intensity band, Max Impact, drill team performances, and interactive activities. Even Sesame Street’s Elmo will get in on the fun!
Also of note are Sunday’s special presentations: SR-71 Blackbird: An Engineering Marvel with speaker Col. Richard Graham, ret. and the Helicopter Water Rescue Demonstration, at 11:00am and 2:45pm, respectively.
Plus, join Intrepid on Monday night for a bonus free movie hosted by the US Air Force! Watch Red Tails alongside six of the original Tuskegee Airmen; witness how this crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program was called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard.
