Intrepid's Flags Lowered to Half Staff in Honor of Neil Armstrong
The flags on Intrepid's Pier 86 have been lowered to half staff to honor Neil Armstrong, who passed away Saturday at the age of 82.
Armstrong made history on July 20, 1969 when he became the first man to walk on the moon as the commander of the Apollo 11 mission
We are proud that Intrepid played a role in critical precursors to the Apollo missions by participating in the Mercury and Gemini missions, and we honor Armstrong and his accomplishments.
