It’s hard to believe that the eight weeks of summer camp are coming to a close. This summer, we met many new campers from all over the United States, as well as from Canada, Switzerland, Abu Dhabi, China, France, South Korea, Singapore and Turkey!

Exciting activities awaited the campers each day. They coded and decoded their own messages, talked with submariner Tom Coulson, built and tested their own bridges, designed structures for 3D printing and stargazed in our portable planetarium. And of course, Camp Intrepid would not be complete without daily explorations of the ship and the Museum’s exhibits. With the talents of Museum Educator Julia Orr, we were able to provide unique experiences for our campers each week.
Our daily Tumblr page was a special addition to the program that allowed our campers’ parents and guardians to keep up with all the excitement. We thank the interns from our youth leadership program LIFTT (Leadership Institute for Today and Tomorrow) for serving as roving reporters, showing up at the exact moment the volcano exploded, the spies tested the laser trap or the campers ate their s’mores! |
