On Tuesday, December 7, Pearl Harbor survivors from the New York metropolitan area and former USS Intrepid crewmembers participated in a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Intrepid Chief Financial Officer Patricia Beene offered remarks and Pearl Harbor survivor Dan Fruchter spoke on behalf of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. After the ceremony, which included blessings from Rabbi Charles Davidson and Reverend William Kalaidjian, Fruchtor and Clark Simmons, another Pearl Harbor Survivor, tossed a ceremonial wreath into the Hudson River.
