The Intrepid Museum remembers John Glenn

The Intrepid Museum remembers John Glenn, a national hero who served as a fighter pilot, astronaut and four-term senator. Glenn was the first American to orbit Earth, a feat that inspired his country and fueled decades of discovery. His lifetime commitment to exploration, knowledge and public service stands as a legacy that will inspire generations to come.

A native of Ohio, John Glenn is the ninth person in history to lie in state at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. He will be honored at a memorial service at Ohio State University’s Mershon Auditorium at 2:00pm on Saturday. Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak at the service, along with officials from all facets of Glenn’s career.

You can view the ceremony via NASA’s livestream here. The Intrepid Museum will also broadcast the ceremony in the Lutnick Theater at 2:00pm. Free with Museum admission.
