Kids Week

Ever wanted to learn origami? Or improve your drawing skills with help from a professional cartoonist? Do you want to meet an astronaut? With so many great partners at the Intrepid Museum’s Kids Week, you can do all this and more!

Kids Week starts this Saturday, February 15, and runs through Sunday, February 23.

In addition to education demonstrations and Tour Guide Talks, Kids Week will feature a Heart and Lights Dance Clinic from the Rockettes, Meet-and-Greets with astronaut Nicole P. Stott, and animal presentations showcasing a Solomon Islands monkey-tailed skink, a Flemish giant rabbit and an African bull frog. On Super Hero Headquarters day, learn your super power and pose with some of your favorite super hero characters!

Or sit back and relax as performers from Cinderella, Matilda, Pippin, STOMP, The Story Pirates, The Pop-Ups and more dazzle visitors with stories, songs and dances. Or if you’re feeling sporty, Sports and Games weekend will be filled with athletic fun, practice drills, and appearances from Mr. Met and Sandy the Seagull.

During Science Meets Science Fiction weekend, tackle computer science challenges with Tynker, learn about developing code with Hopscotch, participate in robot-building workshops with Tinkersphere, and sit in on 3D printing and nanotechnology demonstrations with 3D Systems and Sony Wonder Technology Lab. Throughout all of Kids Week, there will be crafts and other activities from partners including the Central Park Zoo, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, The New Victory Theater, and Broadway shows After Midnight, Aladdin, Bronx Bombers, Lion King and Newsies.
