Less than one week left until Kids Week! Join the Intrepid Museum for six days packed with fun, educational hands-on activities, live demos and more, all focusing on FLIGHT!

Kids Week will kick off on Monday, February 16, with a variety of exciting live shows and workshops, including a breathtaking presentation by Talons! A Bird of Prey Experience and the chance for up-close encounters with the birds throughout the day. Science Bob will demonstrate the wonders of flight using various chemical reactions, and Jill McGuire, a tool engineer for NASA, will be on hand to demonstrate tools adapted for use in space.

Highlights throughout the week will include workshops by Dazzling Discoveries, in which kids will learn how to make space claw tools, and the chance to meet real-life scientists and learn about their fascinating explorations of the universe around us!

The week will also be filled with readings, special demonstrations and signings by acclaimed children’s book authors, as well as presentations by aviatrix Amelia Rose Earhart and Antarctic researcher Margie Turrin.

Kids Week will also feature exciting screenings and cool aeronautic workshops by the show Space Racers, as well as showings of Curious George Goes to Mars. And be sure to stop by on Thursday, February 19, for the chance to meet Curious George himself!

Wrapping up this action-packed week on Saturday, February 21, will be Mars Rover-themed workshops from the Lab for Robotics Education, thrilling live performances of Flight and Life in Space by the Franklin Institute, aviation-themed Pocket Scientist experiments by the Liberty Science Center and a very special Rube Goldberg Speed Building Challenge, in which kids will have one hour to build a complex machine that performs a very simple task.

It will be a week of high-flying fun!
