A4 Skyhawk, an Exception to the Rule
Posted: 1/22/2013 10:51:45 AM

The A4 Skyhawk, the only plane in the collection to have flown from Intrepid’s flight deck during her time of service, is an exception to the rule. While most carrier planes have folding wings, the A4 Skyhawk does not. Other unique features include an external fuel tank and fueling probe that allow this aircraft to be refueled mid-flight.

To learn more about the A4 Skyhawk, take a look at our latest Tour Guide Talks video, here:

If this two minute virtual talk leaves you wanting more, take a look at Intrepid’s wide variety of Guided Tour offerings, including a sort of “choose your own adventure” VIP Tour. General Admission and Guided Tour tickets for 2013 are now available for online purchase. And more Talks featuring the Museum’s expert Tour Guides are promised to be released throughout 2013.
