Interested in space, science or history? Then the Intrepid Museum is the place to be this summer! Join us for our Astronomy Nights on July 24 and August 28, which include outdoor viewings and presentations by astrophysicists. Our Summer Movie Series resumes on July 9, with a screening of October Sky, and continues with movies on the flight deck every Thursday night through August 6. Bring your friends and family to see Moon, Apollo 13, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Wall-E!
For family-friendly activities, check out our family programs on select Saturdays throughout July and August. These special programs, led by Museum educators, are specifically designed for children and their parents or caregivers. Have you always wanted to know what it was like to sleep on an aircraft carrier? Then sign up for our Family Operation Slumber events on July 25, July 31 and August 8 to spend the night among aircraft on board Intrepid.
And don’t miss the fourth annual Space & Science Festival from July 23 to 26! Hear an astronaut's stories about flying into space, experience the movement of satellites in real time, and get a glimpse into the future of space exploration, all during this four-day celebration of science, art and innovation! This year’s festival includes a Meet the Pilots with former astronaut and space shuttle commander Pamela Melroy on Sunday, July 26.
With this lineup of events, the Intrepid Museum is the place to be for space, science and family fun all summer long!
