The former USS Intrepid’s Anchor Chain Room, located in the Fo’c’s’le or bow of the ship, is not only functional but impressive.

Sailors posted at this duty station were responsible for seventy-five tons of anchor chain attached to fifteen tons of anchor. Be sure to watch our newest Tour Guide Talks video to learn more about this important area of the ship.

If this two minute virtual talk leaves you wanting more, take a look at Intrepid’s wide variety of Guided Tour offerings, including a sort of “choose your own adventure” VIP Tour. General Admission and Guided Tour tickets for 2013 are now available for online purchase. And more Talks featuring the Museum’s expert Tour Guides are promised to be released throughout 2013.
