To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is pleased to present a discussion of Hubble’s most important scientific discoveries. On April 30, join us for a conversation with Sara Seager, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Adam G. Riess, Johns Hopkins University and Space Telescope Science Institute; Priyamvada Natarajan, Yale; Matt Mountain, President of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), and moderator Ira Flatow, host of Science Friday® on Public Radio International, as they discuss Hubble’s unprecedented contributions to the study of our universe.
Hubble was instrumental to the discovery of an accelerating universe, the mapping of dark matter, and the first measurements of the chemical makeup of an exoplanet’s atmosphere. Its contributions have altered our very understanding of the universe and our place in it. Now, as we look back over Hubble’s first 25 years, we hope that you will join us for this unique conversation with leaders in space telescope research to celebrate its achievements.
