For aviation enthusiasts, there are several opportunities to meet naval aviators and NASA astronauts, including Ron Garan, Scott D. Altman and Gregory C. Johnson. Listen in on a Meet the Pilots panel at 12:30pm on Saturday in hangar 3 or spend time with Capt. Beth "Gabby" Creighton and Capt. Robert Creighton III, both F-18 pilots, who will discuss the MAGIC CARPET landing guidance system that has revolutionized aircraft landing procedures on modern-day aircraft carriers.
Families can participate in a Restoration Scavenger Hunt, education demonstrations and Family Aviation Gallery Walk throughout the weekend. And NASA will be on hand, with several NASA Talks scheduled on Sunday, including the panel Flight at the Edge of Space, featuring astronaut Gregory C. Johnson, Kevin Rohrer, Tony Springer and Jim Sokolik. Additionally, USS San Antonio and USCGC Spencer, both docked at nearby Pier 92, will be open for public visitation from 8:00am to 5:00pm through Monday.

On Monday, honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. armed forces at our annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Join hundreds of veterans, representing wars and conflicts from World War II to the present, and their families for this annual, patriotic ceremony, which will include the unfurling of a 100-foot American flag, the playing of “Taps,” a ceremonial wreath-laying and a three-volley rifle salute.
