A key part of the Museum’s mission is to honor our heroes—those whose bravery, service and sacrifice has saved lives and made our country stronger. Here at the Museum, we remember all those who put themselves at risk and lost their lives after the attacks on September 11, 2001.
For these heroes, there is no tribute more befitting than helping our fellow Americans in need. On Monday, September 11, thousands of New Yorkers will join together at the Museum to participate in a 9/11 National Day of Service Project. Together, they will pack more than 500,000 meals for those in need in New York and in Houston.
The acts of compassion since the attacks 16 years ago are too many to count. We are humbled and honored to remember those who served and to continue their legacy.
