A 1/20th-scale representation of NASA’s Juno spacecraft will be on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum from Monday, May 9th through Friday, May 13th.
Juno spacecraft is set to launch in August of 2011. At Intrepid, guests will be able to visit the model and learn about Juno’s five-year cruise to Jupiter and one year mission upon its arrival to the Giant Planet’s orbit in 2016.
The solar-powered Juno spacecraft is set to orbit Jupiter's poles 33 times to find out more about the gas giant's origins, structure, atmosphere and magnetosphere.
Juno will improve the understanding of our solar system’s beginnings by revealing the origin and evolution of Jupiter. The Juno mission is the second spacecraft designed under NASA's New Frontiers Program. |
