ACCESS FAMILY PROGRAMS

ACCESS FAMILY PROGRAMS


The Intrepid Museum offers monthly programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. These programs take place on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families take a guided, interactive tour or virtual tour of the Museum and can participate in art-making activities that everyone can enjoy.

Spring/Summer 2021 programs are now virtual. Virtual programs take place over Zoom and include at-home activity packets.

Programs are free but registration is required. To register, please follow the registration links below. Registration typically opens one month in advance. If you have any questions, please contact access@intrepidmuseum.org.

Celebrations Aboard (Virtual) (All ages)
Sunday, August 8, 11:00am-Noon ET
Learn how crew members aboard Intrepid celebrated special occasions with their fellow sailors when their families were far away. The program will highlight U.S. Navy traditions on Intrepid and Growler, and give families the chance to share some traditions of their own! REGISTER NOW


Airplanes vs. Helicopters (Virtual) (All ages)
Sunday, September 12, 11:00am-Noon ET
Discover what makes airplanes and helicopters similar and different. Learn how aircraft fly through the air while investigating the Museum’s historic collection.
