ACCESS FAMILY PROGRAMS

ACCESS FAMILY PROGRAMS

The Intrepid Museum offers monthly programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. These programs take place on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families take a guided, interactive tour or virtual tour of the Museum and can participate in art-making activities that everyone can enjoy.

Virtual programs take place over Zoom and include at-home activity packets. In-person programs take place at the Museum, with a morning session for children and an afternoon session for teens and adults.

Programs are free but registration is required. To register, please follow the registration links below. Registration typically opens one month in advance. If you have any questions, please contact access@intrepidmuseum.org.

Program Options:

Inclusive Pride Family Day
Sunday, June 4
1:00pm-4:00pm ET - All ages

Join us at the Intrepid Museum to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride at our Inclusive Pride Family Day! Learn all about LGBTQ+ figures in space exploration and the Navy. Families of all ages and experiences can take part in hands-on art and storytelling activities all about expressing yourself, and explore the Museum at their own pace with a scavenger hunt.

A quiet room will be available to families who need to take a break. A social narrative, visual vocabulary and visual schedule will be sent to every family before the event.

Register here.
