October is Member Appreciation Month! We want to thank all of our Intrepid Members for being a part of our story. Your support allows the Museum to offer innovative programs and exhibitions that help preserve history and inspire future generations.

We spoke with our Director of Membership, Megan Sanko, to hear about the benefits of an Intrepid membership, and what members have to look forward to this year.

Last year, we added Member Appreciation Month to our calendar as a special way to say THANK YOU to our members for their support and enthusiasm throughout the year. During the month of October, members are eligible for special perks including an extra free guest on every visit, free tours and 3D movies, and special discounts for programs and the Museum shop.

It is a small token of our appreciation for supporting the Museum all year long and being a part of Intrepid’s continuing story.

When you join as an Intrepid Museum Member, you receive unlimited, express admission to view Intrepid, the submarine Growler and the space shuttle Enterprise on every visit, special event invitations and other great benefits. You also become an important part of our story as we continue to honor our heroes, educate over one million visitors each year and inspire the next generation of trailblazers and innovators.

In addition to unlimited admission and discounts in our Museum shops and restaurants, members are also invited to exclusive events throughout the year including the Parade of Ships viewing and Memorial Day Members Breakfast during Fleet Week. Members also have access to the Cat Shot Café during our Summer Movie Series, Members Night and exhibition previews. You can visit our member events page to see upcoming and past events.

On Thursday, October 10, members are invited to the opening event for Navy Cakes: A Slice of History, the Museum’s newest exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the epic sweets and the hard work of the sailors who created them. Explore recipes, photos, artifacts and films that tell stories of the elaborate confections baked onboard Intrepid and the submarine Growler. Join us to preview and toast the exhibition before it opens to the public and engage in a lively conversation beginning at 7:30pm with experts in the industry, including Duff Goldman, Food Network personality and owner of Charm City Cakes.
