Veterans Day

Veterans Day is an important day for the Intrepid Museum and for our country to pay tribute to those who have served our nation in uniform. This Veterans Day, we are unable to conduct our traditional public commemoration due to COVID-mandated capacity limits. But while this year is different for all of us, our gratitude to our veterans for their sacrifice and dedication to protecting our freedom is unwavering.

To honor our veterans this year, the Museum is partnering with the United War Veterans Council (UWVC), organizers of the annual Veterans Day Parade in New York City, on an intimate invitation-only ceremony that will be broadcast live on WABC-TV 7. The program’s speakers will include representatives from the Intrepid Museum, UWVC, the City of New York and U.S. Navy. A commemorative wreath laying will follow.

Veterans Programs are made possible by public funds facilitated by Councilman Chaim Deutsch, Chair of the Committee on Veterans, in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. These programs are also supported by the Craig Newmark Philanthropic Fund.
