As part of our partnership with Blue Star Museums, we are proud to announce that active duty military personnel and their families can enjoy free admission from Armed Forces Day on May 20, through Labor Day on September 4. This offer is exclusively available at our box office and can accommodate up to five family members in addition to the military ID holder. An active duty service member or dependent family member must present the appropriate ID card to access this offer.

Veterans also receive a 20% discount on Individual, Dual and Family Memberships. Click here for information on the benefits of membership, and view our calendar to learn about special events, including the Museum’s annual ceremonies for Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and Memorial Day.

Programs at the Museum and online for current and former service members and their loved ones are free with advance registration. Customized programs for veteran service organizations, vet centers, VA hospitals, military family organizations and other groups are also available!

Join fellow veterans and service members at the Intrepid Museum to explore the Museum without the crowds. Then join peers for conversation, a behind-the-scenes experience and a catered dinner.

Preserving Corsair
Wednesday, June 28 | 4:30pm – 8:00pm ET

Join fellow current and former service members to be one of the first to see remnants of a Corsair that was recovered from the Pacific Ocean. This aircraft flew off Intrepid during WWII and now has returned almost 80 years later. Hear from the team of specialists who are preserving the parts of the Corsair. Then, continue the conversation over a catered dinner.

Military Family Access to Pride Family Day

Military & Veteran Access to Inclusive Pride Family Day

Sunday, June 4 | 12:30pm-4:00pm ET

Join us at the Intrepid Museum to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride at our Inclusive Pride Family Day! Learn all about LGBTQ+ figures in space exploration and the Navy. Families of all ages and experiences can take part in hands-on art and storytelling activities all about expressing yourself, and explore the Museum at their own pace with a scavenger hunt. Entry to the Museum is FREE with event pre-registration.

Current and former service members and their families who pre-register are invited to a special Military Family Luncheon. A light lunch will be available from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

Vet Video Chats

For veterans who are unable to visit the Museum, video chats build social connections and provide stimulating conversations. This online program highlights objects and spaces within the Museum and invites individuals to ask questions, make comments and share stories. It will especially enrich the lives of individuals who require intensive healthcare services at home or in a hospital setting.

Guided Group Tours for NYC Veterans

The Intrepid Museum offers free guided tours for organizations that serve veterans and military families. These interactive programs can be tailored to the interests of the group. Intrepid Book Club

Join fellow veterans, service members and military family members online for a lively book discussion! The Intrepid Book Club meets quarterly for a two-hour facilitated discussion with an introduction related to the Museum's collection and crew. Books are a mix of fiction and nonfiction, all related to military or military family experiences. Copies of the books are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis and advanced registration is required.

The Intrepid Book Club is free for all current and former service members and their families, spouses and partners.

Contributions and Experiences of LGBTQ Service Members and Military Children

In honor of Pride, join the Intrepid Museum for a conversation on the contributions and experiences of LGBTQ service members and military family members, particularly in the face of discrimination. Veterans and family members will share stories of resilience, struggle and activism in the past and present. Learn about the evolution of the military’s policies and practices affecting LGBTQ service members as well as the new challenges service members and military children face today.

Your Brain on the Military

The Intrepid Museum and NewYork-Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center welcome current and former military service members and their families for a series exploring the links between military service and the brain. Hear from researchers and veterans as they unravel myths and realities about the military and mental health.
