Intrepid After Hours
Intrepid After Hours invites military veterans and service members to experience the Museum at night. Explore the Museum without the crowds, and then join peers for conversation, a creative exercise and a catered dinner.

Military Family Programs (for children ages 3-18)

Military Family Programs

Created for current and former military service members and their families, these programs include an interactive tour of the Museum, experiments, and design challenges intended to engage the whole family. Fall 2020 programs are now virtual. Virtual programs take place over Zoom and include at-home activity packets.

Vet Video Chats

For veterans who are unable to visit the Museum, video chats build social connections and provide stimulating conversations. This online program highlights objects and spaces within the Museum and invites individuals to ask questions, make comments and share stories. It will especially enrich the lives of individuals who require intensive healthcare services at home or in a hospital setting.

Veterans Plus

Your Brain on the Military

The Intrepid Museum and New York Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center welcome current and former military service members and their families for a series exploring the links between military service and the brain. Hear from researchers and veterans as they unravel myths and realities about the military and mental health.

Join us on September 25 for a virtual town hall discussing veteran mental health concerns around COVID-19 and service-related issues. Learn about how social changes, grief and economic loss are affecting our veteran community, and about resources and treatments available at the Military Family Wellness Center.

Intrepid Book Cub Reads Bloods by Wallace Terry

Join fellow veterans, service members and military family members online for a lively book discussion! The Intrepid Book Club meets quarterly for a two-hour facilitated discussion with an introduction related to the Museum's collection and crew. Books are a mix of fiction and nonfiction, all related to military or military family experiences. Copies of the books are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bloods: Black Veterans of the Vietnam War

At this virtual meeting, we will be discussing the classic Bloods: Black Veterans of the Vietnam War: An Oral History by Wallace Terry. This collection of oral histories tells the stories of Black veterans as they fought in Vietnam for their country and also at home for their civil rights.
