The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has been delivering high-quality education programming to tens of thousands of students, teachers and families for over 25 years. Centered on the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark, our unique collection spans a half century of technological innovation. Highlights of the collection are 27 aircraft, including the A-12 and the British Airways Concorde, the Cold War–era submarine Growler and the space shuttle Enterprise. The Museum uses history and technology to inspire innovation and to develop the next generation of leaders. Grounded in the best practices of inquiry-based, experiential and object-based learning, our education programs are designed to provide meaningful and engaging learning experiences for students and their families in and out of school, and to provide classroom teachers with resources that further support their students.
Bring your students to the Intrepid Museum for Con Edison’s STEM Days Out, a program that aims to stimulate the interest of middle school students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through free education programs held at STEM-rich cultural institutions in New York City and Westchester. The Museum is proud to be a partner in College Access for All, an initiative of the New York City Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Readiness! College Access for All programs aim to increase the number of high school students who graduate ready for postsecondary education.
